Roman Social Order Before 494 B.C.E
As time went on, the original Roman social order changed. The Plebeians were angry at the Patricians so they decided to go on strike! They refused to serve in the army which means that they would be raided all the time. They had refused to do all the work which was bad news. It was bad for the Patricians because the Plebeians did all the hard work like farmers, artists, and shopkeepers. The Patricians wouldn't be able to handle it. Eventually the Patricians couldn't handle it so they gave up and gave the Plebeians the rights that they deserve. The Patricians let the Plebeians be Consuls, Senators, Army leaders, and were aloud to vote. The Plebeians got what they deserved and were just as great as the Patricians. Although the Plebeians got the rights that they had wanted slaves and freemen were still the same living in the harsh world. Still wanting to know more information? Go to this link below.
